New 83 C-10 owner

I've always wanted a C-10, I traded a 92 GMC Jimmy recently for this 83 Scottsdale.

It originally came with a 305, but at some point they put a 350 crate engine from Mexico in it. It had the 700r4 up until a week ago, it was slipping really bad so I install a rebuilt TH350 that I found for $275.

Here it is the first day I brought it home.

I've done a few things to it so far. I did a Herculiner bed liner, painted the rear bumper, installed an aluminum grill I found at the junk yard, install some 4" amber trailer lights in the 4" holes in the radiator support, painted the ralley wheels and found some black lugnuts. and installed some euro lights(I wish I could find all clear tails).

I thought the trans swap would be easier, it looked like the frame was drilled for every trans available, but that wasn't the case. I tried moving the cross member forward, but it was hitting the e-brake bracket that is riveted to the frame, so I made a custom crossmember(which will help when I get long tubes).

There you go, I have a ton of other things planned for it, just waiting on funding, lol.

Re: New 83 C-10 owner

Thanks for the comments guys. That's one thing I do love about this truck, that it has really straight panels. I think its been repainted about 10-15 years ago, I'm going to lose all the molding and repaint probably next summer.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but I would encourage you to keep the moldings.

The truck looks "unfinished" without them to me.

MHO -

Trim looks awesome on those trucks, but did you have all of them? or I see stripes. Don't know how easy is to gather the missing parts tho.
