Question long block replacement

I put this on the 88-98 board and received no response, could any motor heads help?
I am going to replace a friends 1991 350 tbi engine (rod knock) with a long block bought for this year and model (1991 1/2 ton 4x4) I have built older models and had good luck with them.Should I be aware of any problems I may encounter as to intake manifold, distributor, timing,ect... and where could I find any reference material which would outline change over, thanks.

label every stupid plug and hose. It may look dummy proof, but they normally aren't. If you have a digi cam, use it. Take tons of pics. The longer it is scattered all over the floor, the more important the pictures will be.
Even though we normally think that the newer stuff is more of a pain, in reality, most of the GM chainges make things easier for us.
Chiltons or Haynes oughta be of value.
