No aftermarket/repo stuff for those. You have to use what you have or search for better used ones. Not the easiest to find and $$$$ when you do find them.

Re: Gmc hydra matic shift indicator lens

I know I have seen those shift indicators years ago but don't remember how they were actually set up.

if it is a clear lens that goes in a bezel in front of the indicator you might just make one out of plexiglass or even glass. Cut a pattern out of some stiff card stock and transfer it to what you make the lens out of.

Was planning to cast a mold and completely reproduce. Had everything all set-up to start And misplaced it somewhere in the house. Then another member sent me one that would have worked and when it got here USPS had broken it in half.

In 57 -61(?) Chevy had a transmission called TurboGlide that had a GR position on the shifter that stood for Grade Retarder. That position provided engine braking when needed. When I first saw this pic my first thought was that this might be the truck version of that tranny.

Hi, I'm looking to do the same thing with my GMC Hydramatic shifter. Any chance you have more of those new shift indicator lenses for sale? I would also be looking for a shift handle and boot. Thanks!
Jim
