Widened steel wheels

I have a '68 GMC 3/4 with 106k mi. Want to purchase 8 lug 16x10 wheels for original hubcaps from Wheelsmith in Corona, CA. Will 16x10" be too wide? Truck has been lowered 2" all around and has smaller tires on existing aftermarket US Wheel 16x7 wheels. Thanks p.s. not sure how to post a picture of existing truck "Hazel"...

Your truck is a 3/4 ton so in my opinion I would choose the tire size you like first ,then choose the rim to go with it.I don't think the 10" are not going to lend them selves to as many tire choices as a 8" would.

Good luck!

Re: Widened steel wheels

My '71 C/20 with leaf springs sat maybe as much as 2" lower in the rear with the camper on. It had 9.75s in the rear and 8.25s on front. The rear tires were tall 33/12.50s and these days in 16" you can get lower profiles. So you should be ok.
