Clutch & Throttle Linkage
Does anyone have some pics and advice on hooking up the clutch and throttle linkage for an inline 250 in a 53 3100?
I'm using a s-10 T-5 and the aluminum bellhousing that came with it. This is my first time doing this so don't assume anything is obvious!

Re: Clutch & Throttle Linkage
I used a cable throttle linkage and a pedal that works with a cable linkage in mine. I think I went though about three pedals and modified a couple of those a time or two before I put in the one I have now. You could probably get the stock pedal and rod that goes through the firewall to work with the 250 if you fabbed up a bell crank setup or used some of the pieces that came on the stock engine.
On my truck I am running the cast iron V8 bellhousing set on the stock AD mounts on the crossmember and that let me hook up the clutch linkage without a lot of hassle. I am pretty sure I ended up using the clutch fork from the stock setup to get it to work and you might want to try that if you still have the old one handy. I put that together in 1989 so the memory is a little foggy on exacy what I did with it and some things have been changed a couple of times since then.
