64-66 wiring harness in a 62

Has anyone tried converting a 64-6 wiring harness into their 62 or 63 truck. I have the most butchered up harness I have ever seen and have a box of good original 65 style to replace them with. I know the cluster will have to be altered but that's no big deal, figure I have nothing to lose.

Don't know personally, but I need a few of the accessory clips for the fuse box if you have any extras on an old fuse block. Both of the right side ones are missing on my fleetside.....I can get pics.

Will do, thanks. Bad part is I had a spare fuse box for parts a few months back, sent it to a member to help out on his project and then picked up the other 63.

Re: 64-66 wiring harness in a 62

I just installed a new 14 circuit universal wiring harness/ fuse box in my truck, that was the best thing i could have done to my truck. i am going to do a frame off starting fall of 15' and will put a new painless wiring harness in at that point. But for $139, the universal harness is great. 2 full days to install but it sure is nice and neat.

Thanks Winston, let me pull this old harness out and I will snap some pictures of it, don't know if its save-able or not. What does the universal harness consist of Bullett.

Re: 64-66 wiring harness in a 62

Yes and at least the one under it also. With out looking at it I don't think there were any others. I can't remember if the bottom one was there or not. I'm inclined to think all three on the right side were gone. I will have to go over my harness with a fine tooth comb.....PO just tapped in all over the place.....bet I removed 20 different wires. Have the truck down to factory wiring only right now.

let me know how many you need and i'll pull em out, i use the spare harness to fix the 65 and maybe the 66 burban if need be, to get em correct. its cheaper and easier to buy a junk harness and use the correct wire and terminal ends, then trying to find the wire, believe me i know!!! and the new wire has highly visable writing on it so it would'nt fly for those anal purest, like me hehe...
