Radiator support mounts?

I bought some new radiator support mounts and was trying to install them without taking the bottom brackets off.I put a bottle jack under the radiator support and jacked it up.Not a good idea the gap between the fender and door is off about a quarter inch from bottom to top.Any suggestions?

Re: Radiator support mounts?

The problem is likely that the cab mounts have also compressed over time. I usually do the cab and core support mounts at the same time. Also its never a good idea to Jack up the core support by itself. The fenders are bolted to the cab and the cab is bolted to the frame so when it moves the only thing it can do is mess up the panel alignment. I'd check the cab bushings and then prepare myself to remove the cowl cover to access the fender mounting bolts and realign everything. BEFORE doing that though try loosening the bolts inside the lower rear of the fender. If the gap is just wide at the bottom it may have just slipped at those bolts and you might get lucky taking the stress off of them and get it to adjust back where it belongs that way.
