choice of bags
I'm looking to start piecing things together for bagging my 78 long bed.
What bags do y'all like. Use. Recommend.... truck is a sbc now but plan on a Bbc later And any other info. I'm bee to this side of the world getting some research in

There are a lot of different bag choices out there. On here, you will see a lot of guys either use Slams or AirLifts. I usually will use the AirLifts, since they are priced well and a good product. The Slams won't "balloon" under inflation, but I don't necessarily think the AirLifts do that much. In our trucks, it isn't too much of a concern.... but all depends on how your suspension is setup, but usually have plenty of room.
Some have more lift than others, but again, for most applications, the AirLift does well. |

Cool a guy offered me a set of re6s for 60 bucks. I just bought fiddlers off him so hes offering those. Would I benefit from them? I know ill be asking dumb questions but just tryingto get my feet on the ground with the air suspension world

RE6's are small for your truck as they would run stiff very stiff.
I like slams because they off 3 different versions of bags, and I helped tune a air bag truck with them. |

If they are used bags i would pass on them.On bags you want to run the biggest ones you can so you have a smoother ride.A bigger bag will take less psi to lift the same weight and height then a smaller bag.And with a air bag the higher the psi the stiffer the spring rate becomes so stiffer ride.

gotcha..... like I said gentlemen I am a newb to all this so im not even sure what bags are what and the highest I can go or the lowest I can go. I am trying to do all kinds of research and make sure all is in line before I start purchasing things

I've been using Firestone 2600 bags at all four corners with no problems. Carried engines, C10 beds and motorcycles with no problems. Truck is a stepside with 6.0 LS and 6 speed manual. Iron block (lQ4)
