Re: body swap
What do you want your end result to be?
I assume a 72 with the 5.9 cummins Probably simplest is to drop the 5.9 into the 72 if it's a 4x4 a sole lift would work for any clearance issues and you would want to beef up the springs anyway If it's a 2wd maybe some clearance issues? I don't know. Search the build threads guaranteed has been done One day I want a 4bt in a swb 2wd with a 6speed manual should get 30 mpg |

Re: body swap
Are frames from 1987 and down a narrow them bigger and wider motors have to sit higher some times that becomes a problem its like having a camper on the back of your truck don't take corners fast now using are bodys on the new classics you will have to make frame brackets cus where the cab bolts on it narrower. And if you live in a state for smog or safety check you might be opening a new can of worms

Re: body swap
I would like to see this done. When I had my '93 Dodge, the body was falling off and I was looking for an alternative. I never had anyone to help me, but everything I could made it look like the front dodge cab mount perches (mine was an extended cab so IDK about the rear) would let the GM cab set right on and even have the front wheels centered in the fenders.
Please post back with your findings. |

Re: body swap
I need to know what I need to do if anything to swap my 77 single cab 4x4 to a 70 single cab. I know the wheelbase is 2 1/2 inches longer on the 70 truck but will that matter. Any guidance helps thanx

Re: body swap
Are you talking full body swap? (front clip, cab, and bed) or what?

Re: body swap
Sorry i dropped the 70 cab idea but still need to know if i swap the body to a 75 or older because of California's smog laws, will the dmv register it as a 75 or keep it as a 77 if i file for a lost pink slip
