My buddy, who used to sell cars at the local Chevy dealers', says new cars [and trucks] come out in October.

Re: When did the 1967 trucks go for sale to the public?

my dad bought a chevy dealership in 67, i am not sure about 67 but we used to have a new car showing where we used to hide the cars until new car showing day and it was in sept.

i remember when the first impala came in with the window sticker of 6,000 dollars and the salesmen went nuts and were all saying we'll never sell that, no way we can get that kind of money for an impala!!! think things have changed?? lol

Semper Fi Buddy.
My buddy has not been right in the head since he got T-boned on his Panhead Harley by a kid in a Ford van in Vegas. He later said "Yeah, September or October, whatever". Sorry about that.

Re: When did the 1967 trucks go for sale to the public?

I worked at Chrysler dealers from 1975 until 2002 and the new models would start arriving early to mid September. New Car Model Announcement was a big deal when I started but by the 90"s ( and after Lee Iacocca left Chrysler) the bean counters took over the car business and there was no more new car model announcement. I'm sure GM and Ford had similar things happen.

Around September 21, 1966.

September 21st was the first day you could purchase a '67 Pontiac GTO, so I imagine pickup trucks were right around that timeframe as well.
