Re: 292 6cylinder head torgue specs.
I'm looking for the head torque specs for ya..but you really don't have to torque the intake/exhaust bolts....way to do it is...Put gasket on...then manifolds...do this when cold...tighten down by hand...not overly crazy tight... but good an snug...then go and take it for a good 10 mile drive...then next morning re-snug the bolts and call it good. I'll get ya the head specs tomorrow.

Re: 292 6cylinder head torgue specs.
Quote:
1 Unlike other bolts, head bolts should be torqued in four steps and in proper sequence. 2. Always use head-bolt washer and lubricate to achieve proper torque reading. 3. Except for street applications always re-torque after the engine has been through at least one heating and cooling cycle. 4. With STD-LD block series(194-230-250) - the front to head bolts should be torqued to only 85 pounds. (Be sure water pump is in place prior to torquing the head. This reinforces the front and deck of the block.) 5. When using studs follow the manufacturer's installation and lubrication directions. On your 292 all the head bolts are torqued to 95 pounds. You want to start in the center...then do the next set of bolts closer to the front..then do the bolts closer to the rear...in other words..start in center...move forward one set..then back a set from center....do two at a time..one on the left and one on the right as you move. There's a certain patter to follow when torquing these.
