Katrina/10 Update

It's almost finished. Since last time, I painted and installed the bed, installed mirrors, rebuilt the rear axle, calibrated the speedometer, and charged the air conditioning. I applied for insurance with Hagerty, still waiting to hear from them.

Thank you, it has taken a long time and a lot of work. The truck is lowered about 2 1/2 inches. I decided to go for a utility type bed floor, since I will use it for hauling things and it will be left outside sometimes. The wood is just pressure treated 1X pine boards with no strips, drilled through the wood and bolted straight to the crossmembers.

The gray primer one is the next project, 1977 GMC stepside.

As an evacuee from uptown New Orleans this truck makes me proud. I have been following and the resurrection is sublime.

Thanks, I'm glad I could save it. This truck was headed straight for the scrap yard before I got it.
