72 C20 - Sending Unit Replace Help

Hey guys,

I'm about to swap out the sending unit in my 72 c20 with behind the seat original gas tank. I bought the proper sending unit from LMC. My gas gauge is only partly accurate and gets stuck and or has a mind of its own sometimes.

My question is, is it just as easy as disconnecting the battery, taking the old unit out and replacing it with the new unit, reconnecting the fuel lines, wires and reconnecting the battery?? and Viola??

Is there anything special I need to do? Or anything I need to be careful not to do??

Thanks in advance for any help!!

This is my truck BTW, since I know yall love pics!!

That is about it. Make sure it matches before taking the old one out. Some have return lines and some do not. You do not need to unhook the battery because it is hooked to the ignition so it will not affect you. Make ure to get the O-ring centered before twisting the retainer tight . You can put a dab of grease on the O-ring to hold it in place. Everything should work out fine. Good luck
