10 Bolt Problems
I have had a few issues lately with my rear end (on the truck). my passenger side brake drum is self adjusting so much as to cause drag when driving. I tightened the adjuster and removed the "springed flap".
This quick fix resolved the issue, but last time I drove it I noticed the drag again not nearly as bad as before but I know its killing my gas mileage so I don't drive it. I rebuilt the drums about 2 years ago. This rear is from a 90's bodystyle truck, cant remember the exact year. but I had to source the adjusters from a junkyard, so could i be using two drivers side adjusters or what?

Re: 10 Bolt Problems
If properly set up, (1 side is a mirror image of the other), they should not over adjust? With that I will ask couple ? Are the wheel cyls new? The other is on the E-brake....are you sure it is not hanging just a bit on the affected side? longhorn

Re: 10 Bolt Problems
My e brake cable on the truck was cut long ago for some unknown reason, so when I swapped in my new rear i just tucked the new cables into the frame.

Re: 10 Bolt Problems
You got the shoes on wrong on both sides.
You need short shoe to the front. |
