Dang grill removal ahhhhh

Ok so I'm actually very mechanically inclined but I can't seem to figure out how to get the damn grill off without removing the whole front clip. I've searched forums to find the same question asked and no answers, I've searched YouTube. NOTHING, but yet I see all these trucks on here with the grill only removed for paint. So obviously it can be done. Any help would be appreciated. Also big thanks to the guys helping me out with the filter fitting for my carb.

Re: Dang grill removal ahhhhh

Depending on the year....there are 3 or 4 bolts that you will remove from the back of the grill surround to remove the grill. Unplug the head light harness and it will come right out.

I see the bolts but I can't see where I can get around to the back side to remove them. It's a 66

Re: Dang grill removal ahhhhh

Sweet I will check that out when I get home. I'm gonna start a build thread with some pics tonight. Everyone of the decisions on this truck are coming from my 7yr old son! Should be interesting. Low budget build for now. Thanks guys!

Yeah mine had and still has a few spots to fix. Honestly that's a pretty cool patina.

Every picture I have taken today has posted sideways. The upright ones are uploaded from my files.

Re: Dang grill removal ahhhhh

Problem is last guy went crazy with black spray paint and it's peeling off everywhere. Actually has miss growing on fenders and grill that would be cool to leave hahaha. Plan is to sand repaint with same color as interior and sand to a patina look and matte finish.

I like it man! I want that look but just can't afford the bags anytime soon. For now I'll prob cut one coil front an rear and see where it sits. Unless anyone has better input.
