WTB 1988 Suburban Front Bucket Seat

I really need the lower part of a gray bucket. Mine is starting to wear through. I'll take a whole bucket, just the upholstery, or the bottom portion. I am just looking to resolve this issue as it is driving me crazy to have my seat starting to wear through.
Thank you,

anyone out there have a nice replacement? My buckets do have the armrests, not sure if that matters. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: WTB 1988 Suburban Front Bucket Seat

now I am kind of desperate for this seat bottom. I can't find an aftermarket company that sells an exact match. I would take a passenger seat as well as someone told me that the upholstery would interchange. It's worth a try.

Thanks!

Still looking for a gray bucket. I have yet to find one in a junk yard. mine is looking pretty bad. Anyone have a gray bucket seat they are willing to part with?

Just a suggestion, but have you thought about having it re-upholstered. The first seat I had done, I went from the moroon color to grey. This was a early 90's seat in my 86. And then the last photo,I found a period correct seat at a salvage yard that I had re-upholstered like the original factory seat.

http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

Try searching this web-site. It searches all the salvage yards.

I just have not been able to find upholstery that matches. All of the repo companies list the Suburban up to 91 and the upholstery looks just like the 89-91, not like mine at all.

I'll take suggestions if you know where I can get a new cover and have it re-upholstered. I'd like to just do the drivers seat if possible. The Suburban is so original and I'd like to keep as much originality as possible.

Had that same issue with finding the right upholstery. I did find a web-site that has it. When I get home, I will get the address for you. I even have the booklet with the swatches, I'll see if I can get a good pic to post also.

I would think this is yours, Reseda Silver

http://www.miamicorp.com/products/CL...L%20CLOTH.aspx

Or it could be this one, Madera Silver

http://www.miamicorp.com/default.asp...rchText=madera

This is the sample card you can purchase, this will had all the Reseda, Madera colors along with some other fabrics.
http://www.miamicorp.com/default.asp...&catlist=25617

The sample card for the vinyl will be the Enduratex Classics. The vinyl used in the Chevy trucks was called Madrid

I have some Reseda Silver left over from my first seat. I can send it to you, if it matches, which I believe it will.

Re: WTB 1988 Suburban Front Bucket Seat

This is very useful info. Thank you so much. Is this stuff really an exact match? that would be awesome! I just want to do the bottom cushion so I don't need a lot. If you have extra I would just be willing to buy your left over. Let me know if you have enough and want to sell, otherwise, I will order some.

Thank you!

Ryan

These look really great. I can't believe you transformed that red seat into a nice gray one. I never liked the design on those early 90's but you made it look great!

Re: WTB 1988 Suburban Front Bucket Seat

PM sent.

Thanks, I really didn't like how the first seat turned out, it really wasn't the way I wanted it done. Plus it wasn't a period correct seat for my truck, but it sufficed until I was able to find an 85 seat at a salvage yard. I made sure I got this one done exactly how they were orginal from the factory. I found the exact fabric and ordered it myself. I also had an orginal dealer sales booklet on the 86 truck. I took that so the guy had pictures on how the seat was upholstered back in the day. I love the second seat!!!
