Never seen anyone do that. Most people make 4 doors out of them. Maybe someone else will chime in that knows of one....

it's easy if you have a rack system to use to cut and move the frame , working on a garage floor will never be flat square or even .

Re: Cutting a suburban to make it a 2 door

After you cut the back door off and shorten it maybe you can cut the roof off and make it like a convertible.

Perhaps keep the roof and make it a carson top. Then, we can name it........Blazer

Wouldn't that just be a Blazer?

Re: Cutting a suburban to make it a 2 door

I know it would be a Blazer, but I have a 68 suburban that I am about to start fixing, and I have a 70 suburban that is not complete, and I was going to sell it to for scrap, so I thought, maybe I can cut it and make a 2 door.

Re: Cutting a suburban to make it a 2 door

Always wanted to find a wrecked sub and cut the top off for my Blazer to have a metal top instead of fiberglass. Metal hatch would be cool too.

There used to be a guy in Oregon that did that. Seen a couple of his projects at the Portland Swap Meet a few years ago.

Re: Cutting a suburban to make it a 2 door

There are a couple of threads on the board of shortened burbs, but these kept the rear doors. You will have to do a search for the threads. I guess all you need to do is the same thing they do except weld up and finish the third door so its no longer a door.

Re: Cutting a suburban to make it a 2 door

The only one of those that looks proportionally correct to me is that blue one frizzle fry did. Im not sure why but it looks like it was designed that way I think it has to do with the distance behind the rear wheels.. I love that truck.

Let me rephrase that because it didnt come out right. Its all beautiful work. That one is just my favorite because of something about the measurements. Thats just what strikes me about it please forgive my bad wording in my othe post.

I agree, the proportions on Frizzle are my favorite. The others are nice too, I really like the panel version. Id drive any of em =)

Re: Cutting a suburban to make it a 2 door

All these pics are just shortened suburbans like the op asked about. I know he asked about a two door but If you have the skills to take it on you can make it whatever you want. The physical number of doors is irrelevant.
