Removing c10 gas filler

I picked up a great set of bedsides from a dual tank truck. I will be putting a patch panel in the cab as well as the bedsides. Do you guys know how to remove the grommet and where I can get a filler piece? I added the photo of the truck where I got the bedsides from. It shows the filler that I will have to on the bedside. Thanks.

Remove the filler with an air saw. Eastwood has an adequate one for $40.00Leave a bit of the inner lip to help support the filler panel.

Thanks. Would you use the tool to cut the grommet as close to the cab as possible or pry it off with a screwdriver and cut the metal filler tube. I have never done this before and dont know how to start the process. Obviously I need to get the tank out of the cab first.

Question Re: Removing c10 gas filler

Are you talking about the cab filler neck, if so unbolt the gas tank and the rubber gromlet will come off with no problem. It's just a very tight fit and over the years has become hard. Just unbolt the tank with the seat out and start moving it around.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Ok thanks man. Ill try that route. The filler tube in the bedside has me stumped. The filler tube runs in the boxed in section where you would put wood stakes in the holes on top of the bedsides.

Actually the tube runs in a boxed in section beside the bed stake holes. I may just have to cut that boxed section out.

when I did mine I was relocating the tank and the one in the truck had rusted through so there was no point in saving anything. I cut the filler neck below the grommet, removed the tank then cut as much of the grommet as I could with a razor knife then pried off the rest of the grommet with a screwdriver.

Re: Removing c10 gas filler

That looks like a factory auxiliary tank filler, option NL2. If so, that cover over the filler neck inside the bed unbolts, and the filler neck pulls out of the grommet. Spray in bedliner may be covering the screws.

I would be interested in both the filler neck and the cover if you would like to sell them.

Sorry I've been off for awhile. I dont really have much of the filler neck left i believe. The person who I purchased the bedsides from cut it from the fuel tank so there is not alot left. I can try and get everything separated from the quarter panel and shoot you a pic of what I have. I would'nt charge you anything for it other than the shipping.
