power steering problems...help

After installing a new powersteering pump ,steering box and new hoses....I still don't have powersteering Any Ideas????

Have you worked the air out of the system?? Usually best done with the front axle off the ground...turn lock to lock slowly...refill as neccessary.

I've driven about 40 mile on it now...you'd think it would be out of the system by now.........what do you mean"turn lock to lock slowly"?

It means turn all the way too one side then all the way to the other side.

Do it with the engine off and turn the wheels by hand (not steering wheel).

1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now.....
1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

pwer steering

Don't be afraid to add fluid. I was shocked by the amount of fluid it took to fill mine. I must have turned it "lock to lock" over fifty times and it never felt loike power. Then it was like turning on a switch, finally enough fluid was added and it maintained a level. Be patient. Took me over an hour.

Also remember that this is supposed to be a closed system like your brakes. Air won't "work its way out" like you think it will.

Is your Pump pully turning the pump? Is it a keyway pulley ot a nut? I had a nut style which just spun on the shaft and did not turn the pump. I had to change it for a keyway pump/pulley!
Make sure your pulley is tight on the pump!!
