engine swap
I just put a new 408sbc in my 86 C10, and the temp gauge pegs out after it has run for a few minutes, but engine doesn't seem to be running hot. I even took it down the road a couple of miles. The temp sensor was in it from the shop, and is new, any ideas ?
Thanks Carnut |

Re: engine swap
Get an infared hear gun before anything more. I wouldn't risk it getting hot with no temp guage. Couls be bad wiring, sendor or guage, but i wouldn't run it until knowing temps, and even then only a little until a reliable guage is installed.

Thanks, it ended up being the sensor.
