Sold My Truck

After owning my truck for 13 years I was at the point of spending 10K + to get her where I wanted her or letting someone else enjoy her and doing the upgrades. I put the truck in one of our bigger local car shows last weekend with a for sale sign in the window and a young lady came by and was very interested in the truck. Seems she had a 1968 Chevy before and liked it and was looking for a decent truck at decent price that she could daily drive in the summer and upgrade when needed, like she plans on redoing the wood floor box which it needs. I plan to get another truck so you will still see me on the boards as I really enjoy this site. The pics are from last night when she picked it up.

Greg, your truck has been a fixture on this site as long as I've been here. It's the end of an era. I hope she signs up and keeps the truck in the family. Oh,and as for you... Same as Leon said. But I know you've been looking and I have no doubt you'll turn one up shortly

Well, at least her shirt matches the truck.

Is that your Cutlass in the background?

Exactly. This is like losing an old friend. Just not going to be the same around here if she doesn't become a member.

Thing is I never had time to install the new thermostat housing, but she has it along with the 16.00 ( yes, we pay through the nose up here ) Fel-Pro O ring gasket.

As my grandfather would say (did she) comb her hair with an egg beater? I bet your next truck will be better and easier to do.

Yes i've learned a lot about these trucks over the years. I learned a lot from this site which gave me the incentive to try things on my own which I did and I gained a lot of practical experience working on my truck, so yes doing things on and to the next one should be easier.

Your Egg Beater comment is not appreciated.

Looks like it's going to a nice home. You'll have to take a trip to the states and pick up a nice southwest truck!

Re: Sold My Truck

These trucks come and go. I've never really thought too much when someone posts that they have sold their ride. I've posted it more than one time lol.

But I will have to say I'm really surprised with your sale. I figured you were a lifer with this truck. Good luck with what ever kind of ride you come up with next. Maybe some one will post something in the classifieds here you just gotta have =)

Over the years of owning the truck when someone would ask if the truck was for sale, I'd say no the truck will be in my estate. All I did was take it to a car show and put afor sale sign on the dash. If it hadn't sold there, I'd probably still have it.

I did the same thing in 2005. However, I did it with much more stupidity.
Put $26k in it. Put a sign in her front window at a show and sold her for $12.5k.

Then, in 2008 I got RAT. And so far, all together, we put almost $30k into her
(I say $25, the Boss says $30k ) that I'll never get back........But, once it's
in the blood. Well, you know.

Like someone said, "Trucks come and go". I say, good people are hard to find.

Glad you aren't leaving the Forum.

Re: Sold My Truck

Thanks for the responses everyone, its nice to know you folks are happy I am staying around because. Over the years I have go ten lots from this site. I've made some buds and learned more about these trucks than ever expected and sometimes after tough day I find reading the posts is very therapeutic for winding down.

As a side note I've had 5 or 6 people call me this week saying a saw girl driving your truck so i guess she is enjoying the truck which is great.

Glad you are going to still engage the site.
I think yours is one of two or three pink or Canadian special paint trucks I've seen here. Not many for sure. I hope the young buyers become part of our cult of nice folks and diseased collectors (that was supposed to be humorous)
Cheers
