How much for a decent exhaust

I have headers, I was just wondering about how much it would be for the mufflers and pipes.

Thanks a lot. I'm trying to have a good estimate. Also I'm not sure what to go with, I've got a 400sb.

Re: How much for a decent exhaust

Just had exhaust on 69 GMC K10 custom made. I had cone type headers the center dump shortie style already on the truck. True dual exhaust, crossover, tucked up in the truck frame, generic mufflers, over the axle turned out behind the tires at a 45 was ~$475 OTD. This is in Western Nebraska. He supplied all the materials. Good luck, Bruce

Re: How much for a decent exhaust

I just got 3 quotes for 2-1/2" SS dual exhaust from header flanges back, turned out behind the rear wheels, with a crossover pipe.

2- Quotes were between $600-$700 depending on what mufflers I went with. ( These were both small but well know exhaust shops )

The other was from Lou's Custom Exhaust ( A franchise chain ) They wanted the same money for aluminized exhaust, and double for SS...

Re: How much for a decent exhaust

i just paid $250 for 3" from the headers back out behind the rear tires. no cross piece and i supplied the dynamax mufflers ( got em on amazon alot cheaper than he could get them for). also included stainless 3" tips. went back and added a cross pipe for $50. this was from a small well known custom shop not far from the house.

Re: How much for a decent exhaust

I'm getting mine done today at Muffler Masters in Kannapolis. Headers back to past the mid section crossmember. With flowmaster 40's I've been told to expect around $500. Feels high but they do great work.

I'd rather pay a little more and be happy with it than try to save some money and be pissed off everytime I look under the truck (and I spend a lot of time under there)

ADDED: Got it done....

Re: How much for a decent exhaust

I've done two trucks lately and both where around $500.00 and the shop supplied everything except tips. One was a big block the other was a 6.2L

Re: How much for a decent exhaust

my brother in law does exhaust out of his auto repair shop in spring texas so when I finally decide to do mine I just have to pay for materials, wait for a slow week and drive across town with my ears ringing from the damn flowmasters.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
