OEM in dash clock, How loud does your tick?
I finally got to the point I was ready to hook the battery back up in my truck after doing some work, and heard a noise I had never heard before.
It's the clock I installed in the dash. OEM and boy, does the noise stand out. Now I need a stereo to drown it out.

I hear mine outside the truck with the windows closed.
Being off the grid and closest neighbor a mile away and no traffic here, it's quieter than most neighborhoods so I guess noises seem louder. I'll learn to live with it as long as it keeps good time and doesn't kill the battery.

I had a speedo shop convert my OEM clock to a quartz movement. It's as quiet as a fly walking across a cotton ball.

Must be a different flavor of quartz.
My clock says quartz on it. I would prefer a quiet clock, but any clock is better than none I suppose.

I had a clock in my 77 VW Rabbit that sounded like a gearbox full of sand. But never one in the trucks.

Re: OEM in dash clock, How loud does your tick?
I think there were two versions. I had one in my truck in which the second hand had a smooth sweeping motion that was quiet. I swapped it out for one I found that was in better condition. The "new" one has a second hand that stops on each movement and it is pretty loud.

The ticking on mine isn't too bad. I can't hear once I start the truck. Then again I can't uear anything when I start the truck.
