Grille Removal

I need help removing the front grille on my 84 C10. i was able to remove the headlight pieces but i'm having trouble with the main section and the side trim. i don't want to break any clips, please help!!

If you've got the headlight bezels off then removing the center grille should be pretty obvious: there is a a row of fasteners across the top, plus a couple on each end at the bottom (that were covered by the h/l bezels).

The only trick, as I recall, is I think there is one faster that shoots up from the bottom in the center. Perhaps that is the one you are struggling with.

Now - are you trying to remove the chrome/stainless trim that goes around the outside, too, at the fender? Those have either two studs with pal nuts, or two small plastic clips that hold them in place at the fender, depending on the model year. They slip over a guide that keeps them aligned with the upper and lower stainless trim.

To take the grille out, there are screws through the body that holds the girlle to the radiator support. As for the grille trim, once again ditto, there are nuts behind the msheetmetal that will aloow that to come off without pain. No clips needd to be worked over.
