Puts some 3.73's in her today
I finished part 1 of my swap from TH350/2.73 to TH700R4/3.73 by installing the gears today. Turned out well, I only needed to move the carrier .005 to pass side to get everything correct, factory pinion shim thickness was spot on for this set.
Next, tranny install. |

Awesome. What gear set did you use? The "thin" 3.73, or did you swap the carrier? I didn't see it mentioned but I am assuming a 12 bolt.
I did an LS and 4l60e swap in my 76 and will most likely need to change my gears down the road as well. I now have the 3.08.

I mainly use Motive gears and that is what I used in my 10 bolt. I reused the original carrier since 2.73 and up is one style, anything below 2.73 is another style.
Really low at hwy speed with the TH350 and 28" tires, cannot wait to get the overdrive installed. |
