Talking Thinking about buying

Thinking it's time to buy another toy, what do you guys think? 70 custom-10 with rebuilt 350/auto. Guy is asking 4500. Body is straight and solid. Would go good with my 70 step.

Look' like a good deal. What's the interior, motor, and the rest of the drive train like?

Talked to the guy to set up a place to test drive it, according to the guy, it is the original colors. The interior is mint and the A/C is cold. He is the second owner and the only thing thats not original is the carb and intake. I think that is the first truck I have ever seen painted with a reverse paint scheme. Most trucks that I have seen always had the white for a stripe. Anyone know if that could be the original scheme? The owner said the colors are original, but it has been repainted. I think it will make a very good daily driver.

I'm pretty sure that color scheme is not correct. It does look pretty cool though IMO.

It sounds like a pretty good deal.

You could get any paint color combo...but they had there recomended ones.
I knew a guy who had a piss yellow cab roof and side stripe on a red truck. Looked worse than you are imagining.
I looked at that truck and it was in fact, the original paint, and the glove box said special paint if memory serves.

ok- i swore up and down that i would never EVER buy another one of these trucks until i was living in a house (and not an apartment). (have to have someplace to put all the toys)

but that truck is just hollerin someone's name. awesome paint style, awesome color, wow! if you decide not to buy her - i might need some more details!

i LOVE that paint style!

go for it!

and then let me see more pics!

Thanks for all the reply's. Well the truck is sold....to me! It's in better shape than he led me to believe. The truck was bought new here in the high desert and has been here ever since. There is no rust on this baby. He's got a plastic bed liner on it and we pulled it up and the bed looks solid as a rock. I should have it here on Tuesday and will get more pictures and post them. The interior is great. Get this, the doors have no speaker holes cut out. The dash was cut to put in a new radio...oh well can't have it all.

70 CST 4X4, nice truck. Would like to get a 4x4 someday. Your truck looks just like my grand dads old chevy....wonder why I like these old trucks so much.

Awsome!
HAve you asked if the paint was original or not?
The mirrors look like the cheap K-mart ones to me...the Ford ones actually fit better.

I asked him about the paint and he wasn't sure. The first owner had it repainted to original colors. When the man passed on, he left it to his son. His son sold it the current owner after driving it for a few months. I might try and find out if the original owners son might know. Will the glovebox sticker list the color scheme? I didn't really look at that, too excited about buying it and shooting the breeze with the guy. The interior is original. The metal is painted white and has blue door panels, carpet, seat and headliner. I can't wait till Tuesday to bring it home.

Thanks Randy, yeah I am not to worried. It's different than what you usually see and that is why I like it. I think the only thing I will change on it is the side mirrors. Not to fond of them.

I wouldn't be to surprised if it is the original paint. For some reason I think I remember seeing a truck with similer paint, but I could be wrong... in fact I most likely am wrong... I like it.

nice truck and a decent price too, good score. when i repaint my 72 cheyenne i plan on using the 70 paint scheme, white top and bottom and hugger orange in the middle.
you should see if you can contact the son of the original owner, maybe he has some pics of it when it was new. i still have some pics of the 69 CST short fleet my parents purchased brand new. i fell in love with these trucks way back then even though i was only in the fifth grade.

Thanks guys. It's nice to have a real good daily driver. As far as sitting back, I don't think so. I still got the step side that requires some work
My pop called and said I could have his 454 block that is sitting in the garage. Hmmm 2/4 drop, disc's all around...yep still got some wrenching to do.
