What year rang of seats will fit in the 86 sierra, I plan on sticking with bench style just up grading for comfort..

If you're replacing the entire bench seat then the only limit is space. Whatever donor vehicle you pull the seat from, you can pull the mounts as well. As long as the seat fits then you should only have to shim/trim the mounts to fit the contours of your 86 floor pan.

My suggestion is to take some measurements of your current seat. Length, depth taken from bottom seam of seat, seat height, seat back height and seat back angle. To get seat back angle you can tie a drill bit to a string and take another depth measurement. It won't gove you an angle, but it will tell you if your donor seat will hit the back window or not.

Now take your measurements and drill bit to the junkyard and start looking for the perfect seat.
