weird steering problem

This is on my 87 blazer, sometimes the steering feels like its pulling against you after you go around a corner and turn straight. Its like there is a valve thats not shutting off the assist and you have to pull against it to hold the wheel straight and if you rock the wheel back and forth a bit it seems to go away till you go around a corner again. it is intermittent but seems to be getting worse. It doesnt do it in any position but straight ahead or just as you are turning it back to straight ahead. Any ideas?

Re: weird steering problem

There is a problem in the steering box. I had a scary situation in mine where it would randomly jerk to the right.

Smarter people than I may chime in and give you advice on how to rebuild your own, but I was in a hurry and just replaced the steering box with a reman-However, reman boxes don't have the greatest reputation for longevity.
