Getting aggravated. Looking for soft cowl seals

Im looking for the top cowl seal, and the drivers side cowl gaskets. The first restoration on my truck, I had a real soft seal, almost like a kitchen sponge. It was perfect. I'm having a heck of a time finding the correct seal I need. I ordered one, I'm pretty sure from classic industries, and it was a thick, non forgiving rubber. And then I just ordered the "sponge" top and side gasket from brothers. The side one is still a little stiffer than the old one I had, but it's WHITE. Also, the top cowl is also supposed to be the "sponge" type, but it's just as hard as the rubber one from classic industries.

What are some of you using?

Re: Getting aggravated. Looking for soft cowl seals

I've got the one from Eckler's Trucks sitting on my desk. It's not spongy-soft, but it feels like it'll seal ok. It's for my wife's truck, so if it doesn't seal, I expect I'll know about it the first time she drives the truck in the rain.

Re: Getting aggravated. Looking for soft cowl seals

Has anyone tried the one from SoffSeal? I've always used them on my other vehicles, and they have been the best for me.

Re: Getting aggravated. Looking for soft cowl seals

Can someone take a pic of their cowl vent opening? I've tried to get mine to seal but there are openings that look original, but don't make any sense. Thanks in advance.

Re: Getting aggravated. Looking for soft cowl seals

The classic parts one is a freaking joke! Haven't tried any others yet.
