Radiator Hoses
I just installed my core support in hopes of firing up my engine for the first time, but now I'm having trouble finding correct hoses. My engine (350) seems to be sitting back pretty far from the radiator, but looking at photos of other 72 K10's with SB 350, they appear the same.
Would anyone know the part number for the upper hose? I think the lower is DAYCO # 70664 and my local parts store has that, but nothing on the upper Everything lines up perfectly. Trans to crossmember, cab fits perfectly, so I'm assuming swapping from the 250 6 cyl to this SB 350 if ok. Just that large gap between fan and rad I found this photo on the web. Engine appears to be sitting back pretty far, going by that deep shroud

Engine placement and fan shroud look normal & correct for a K-series. Notice in the second pic, the upper hose is a section of formed steel pipe with a short length of straight hose (cheap at any parts store) on each end. That's the way they came from the factory.
The steel pipe can be hard to find. Seems like there was a thread on here not long ago, someone was making them. Possibly from aluminum or stainless steel, I don't recall. Possibly expensive. If you don't mind a suggestion, lose the rigid fan and get a good clutch fan. And the correct shroud.

Yup, the upper hose used a metal pipe in the middle.
The lower hose used to fit perfect and not rub the frame. They quit making that hose and the replacement rubs the frame. I always wrap a piece of inner tube around it at that point and fasten it with wire ties. Looks like you are missing the spacer behind you alternator.

Thanks for that info. I never realized that top hose was two piece. I may have trouble finding that. I do also need that correct larger shroud, and that alternator spacer. I just needed to rig something up until I find one. I do have a clutch fan. I just needed to clean up the fan before I instal it. My new Heartthrob exhaust is due to be delivered today, so I'm hoping to have it installed and engine fire by tonight

NAPA # 7368, Is a one piece upper radiator hose that fits reasonably well. Your engine position is correct for the in-line 6 and the 4X4. I agree the fan clutch is the way to go. The fan blades should be half way in the shroud and half way out of the shroud. I am the one who has newly-built upper metal radiator pipes for the 4X4s. Looking good, Bruce

Thanks for that part number. I'll get that hose tomorrow. For today I just made my own. Cut the hose in half and added a 1 1/2" tube to make up the extra length. Double checked everything, supplied 12v to the dist, hit my makeshift starter switch and after about 5 seconds of cranking, she fired right up after sitting for about 5 years :-)
Tomorrow I'll finish up the exhaust and then finally get the cab back onto the frame
