function of brake switch at proportioal valve ?

Hy all

in the past i had installed a separate brakes switch ....so at the moment i am redoing the brake pedal / brake booster setup.

This time i would like to use the brake switch which is mounted directly at the proportional valve...

As u can see on the pic ...the brake switch does have a small nippel on the bottom side..
On the other side it has 2 pins for a plug (or wire)

So if i press the nippel ..i thought i will get a connection (or disconnection) of the 2 pins on the top of the switch...
But "no"... the 2 pins are always connected....i just get a connection of the pins and the nippel itself...

So i am really confused right now....how can i handle the brake light with this kind of switch

Thanks for ur help

Re: function of brake switch at proportioal valve ?

The combo/prop valve has a "shuttle" in the center of the housing, which closes off the defective branch (front or rear) if you lose pressure.

The electrical portion is what illuminates the warning light in the dash, notifying the driver there is a problem.
