Tremec 5spd - best dealer/advice for AD truck installation
Later this fall we're putting a new GM crate motor in my 49 Chev truck and will be putting Tremec 5 spd behind it.
Looking for who is the best to put a package together for us. Not sure which gear set, yet, but will be using the midshift kit and putting together a hydraulic clutch. A quick Google search comes up with a few names ( and some pieces of the for Keisler engineering here and there). - Silver Sport Transmissions - Modern Driveline - Jam performance Transmissions - Liberty Gears Any recommendations??? |

FWIW, I think Silver Sport bought up the Keisler stuff.

I bought a T56 Magnum kit for my '55 Bel Air from American Powertrain (Elite Tremec Distributor). I think they are and honest and reliable business. The guy's name I dealt with was Gray.

Bowler is who I've been talking to. They are pretty big dealer and local for me.

Re: Tremec 5spd - best dealer/advice for AD truck installation
Thanks folks,
looks like some good options. I noticed American Powertrain lists a midshifter option. I also see they cover TF trucks and up, but, like most , not AD trucks. Though I suppose most must have some experience with them. |
