My 49K mile blazer..

I bought this blazer on the board from ATP and am so glad to have it. Its got 49,862 original miles and its mostly original. The story is that a guy had it and him and his friends went hunting out west every winter and some times fishing in the summer. It was put up sometime after 86 from the inspection sticker. It has the original spare and spare tire carrier and I am working on finding the bolts to install it now. I also need to add rear seat belts to it because it didn't come with any. Interior in all original seat covers in great shape. Originally it had full wheel covers but now has GM steel wheels and original gm dog dish hub caps. It has had one repaint in the early 80s but its still in great shape. All the lights work inside and to my surprise I can listen to the working AM radio and the light even works. I added the white letters in the back and that's all she needed. It doesn't even leak anything that I have noticed. The only rust in a little bit in the floor pans.

It was built late in 71 even has 72 doors but they are original to the truck. The inside has never been painted.

Were double wall tops less common in 72'?

Very nice K5!

To me at least the RH door looks to be a 71 not 72.

Re: My 49K mile blazer..

The doors are 72 but have 71 down door panels. 72 double wall tops were earlier trucks. They didn't have single wall tips until later in the production swing. I'm not sure which is rarer but mine is original single wall. Sweet blazer anf good to see a clean survivor.

I agree with DeadheadNM looks like 71 door door to me at least by the door panel and the plastic ferrule under the wing window.

At one time there were a lot of Members on
here looking for a clear pic of those jack
instructions to get them reproduced.

Is that label still in good shape?

Re: My 49K mile blazer..

You may be right I didn't look closely. Maybe it's a 71 with a 72 title. Not unheard of as I've seen it before.

Re: My 49K mile blazer..

Your doors are correct for your blazer. 71 and possibly earlier blazers only had the screw by the vent window. It's different than the 72 doors. Again, super nice blazer!

Re: My 49K mile blazer..

Very nice. Cool to see what my original color actually looks like. Funny to compare SPIDs too.......some of the same options, same year but different codes. Yeah, I know K vs C but still AM radio is a different code? Wish I knew more about the option codes' final two letters.
