Removing Leaf springs

Looks like the board is back up....Unless it was my computer I had not been able to get on for a few days,,,Was having board withdrawls..Any way trying to remove leafsprings on Longhorn to replace bushing which seem to be in need of replacing..Shackel bolts on really tight any suggestions....Thanks

They can be a real bear! Get ready for some pounding and cussing. Sorry I don't have any good tips. When I removed my bushings I used a small drill bit to drill out alot of the bushing material and then a hole size that was the same size of the bushing. Some people burn them out but that didn't work for me with a little propane torch.

i always spray the **** outta them with penetrating oil the day before i start in with em heat and penetrating oil usually loosens all the rusty cruddy bolts

1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX
1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears
1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now.....
1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

I put some drop shackles on the back of mine 2 weeks ago, i used a breaker bar and they were tight to the end but they did come...a lot of reaming though, but it payed off
