My dad's new truck
I remember when dad traded his 1956 chevy truck for this GMC.
Dad enjoyed his trucks - and they were all red. This column 3 speed 283 was what I learned to drive, later take my drivers test on, and used to run errands and pick up parts. We shared a warehouse with 3 other stock car racing teams and most of the time, I was the gopher. That was in southern Illinois, I am in southern Indiana now. Through the years I have a few projects: GTO, jeeps, mustang (uh!), Waggoner, Super Bee, the last few have been sports cars, my last a Mercedes sl. I had searched quite awhile for a GMC, but recently came across a '66 chevy. Bought it. I am ready to do this truck, and it is in bad shape. Oh well, parts should be cheap and easy to find - compared to original Mercedes parts. I enjoy the project threads!! Hopefully some day I will find some pictures of dads '56 Thanks All Rich |
