AD headlight bezels
The bezels that came with the truck are pretty dinged up. I have been looking online and in catalogs and have found stainless and chrome plated 'after market' repops, made in china. Are there any that are worth getting ? Are there any NOS out there and available ?

Re: AD headlight bezels
I have NOS ones I bought on Ebay, along with NOS door handles and latches and a distributor and a center hood moulding and etc. I think you get the idea.
Reproduction junk is the LAST resort for me. Brian

Thanks Brian, I have been looking long and hard, there too - so far haven't found the bezels I want. I will definitely keep looking. Maybe Turlock or Pomona swaps.....?

Re: AD headlight bezels
They can also be repaired, they are stainless and dents mean nothing as long as there is access from the rear. If they are dented on a edge that can be hard but you average dent is easy to repair.

Re: AD headlight bezels
I'd try taking the dings out of them as Martinsr suggested. Or there are some guys around who redo stainless trim for a price who usually cater to the antique car guys.
Good ones that you can polish up aren't that hard nor that expensive to find used though if you find stainless.

Re: AD headlight bezels
It's really not as hard as you think. Here are a few "Basics of Basiscs" on the subject. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/basi...ing-49012.html http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/basi...ts-163013.html
I just did the wheel opening mouldings on my Gran Sport and was surprised once again how easy it is. One thing that has changed big time, the finer grit papers we have now for color sanding and polishing. Moving up to 5000 on my DA in the grinder mode left those mouldings in "like polished" state. I only polished it just because "you are suppose to" but honestly that 3000 and 5000 is AMAZING for metal finishing Stainless. Brian

Re: AD headlight bezels
Hello;
Have gotten to the point that I'm looking for the headlite bezels also. I would really like to find a set of plain(not ss or chrome) bezels to paint to match the body. Anyone got any place to find the plain ones. T-P Auto Tim |

Brian, Thanks for the links, advice and I think I can save my originals. Making a curved bronze dolly on a punch for working the inside curves out - maybe it will work.... |

Re: AD headlight bezels
It really depends on if it needs a dolly or simply pushing out the low spots from the inside. This can be done with many thing, depending on how "tight" the low spot is. MANY pushes from something sharp like an awl could do the trick, or something with a more rounded end on it, I use everything from an awl to a dolly or the pick of my hammer (not hitting, but using it to push it out).
