wiring issues

So I just got this blazer from a fellow board member and while it's a great start I'm having Iissues figuring out where my wires go seeing how the ends are cut off.. anyway it's a 72 blazer with a 350..I've circled the 5 wires I need the help with thanks guys

IIRC, left side of that plug is all engine stuff, right side is headlight harness stuff. There is a great colored wire diagram down in the electrical forum, up at the top. But, if you can t figure it out, i ll look at mine tomorrow

I looked at the diagrams in the electrical section but when I blew them up they were too blurry to read.

Let me know if you can read this one....what color wires do you have, and check to see if they are in good condition, no sense burning your truck to the ground

Top two are tan and green.. middle is pink.. and the two on bottom are black wit thin white strip and a larger purple wire..

Sorry, date w / wifey.....

Tan- brake warning light
Purple- starter
Pink- usually switched 12+, but i have to look, mine has been modified
Black/White- don t see one at your location
Green- horn, but there is lt. green and dk. green at that location. Looked again, probably temparture wire

This info. is from wiring schmatic. I ll look further for the black/white.....found a b/w on the othe side of plug, the one that has a bolt in it

My guess is coil, but can t say for sure b/c i now have 8 coils. Do you have a ballast mounted on the firewall, or HEI distri.?

Someone should stop by and confirm

Thanks for the help Jim and your we're right it was the coil.. I was also trying to figure this out with my two helpers. 4&5 year Olds sons.. good luck with your wiring. David

Glad i could help you out. Thats where my sons started at, they became mech. engineers, good father/sons time in the workshop.Enjoy them, they grow up quick

I wish i only had 5 or 6 wires to deal with

They already are.. I've bought 3 blazers 2 1970's and this 72 my plan is to have them help me build them and give them to them for their first cars..
