New guy (to this board) from AZ (Mesa)
Hello everybody,
Name is Wayne and just decided to join this message board and gain some knowledge about the 63 and 66 GMC trucks I just recently picked up. Found a 66 long bed wrecked bad (bent frame) near my cabin property up north a couple weeks ago. Picked it up cheap so I figured I would start looking a little a see if I could find a frame over time. Well weekend before last searching Craigsssssssssss I found a real nice 63 GMC (also cheap) with a short frame and no bed so I jumped on it really early Sat. morning. Suddenly within 8 days I have added two more trucks to my already large herd. I am thinking about making a short bed daily driver to keep miles off my diesel pickup. Really like the patina look as I already have a black 67 Chevelle to take to shows so shiny is not anything I am looking for. In the middle of building a altered wheelbase 67 Nova drag car, so not planning to jump in the middle of this too soon, buy you guys know how these things go,,,,,,,,,,,, My dilemma is this; When I bought the 66 I was up at my cabin while my wife was home in town. Figured I would find the "right time" to break the news to her so I towed the truck to my property and went home. When I went to pick up the 63 short bed a couple weeks ago I didn't want to stir up the pot so I said I was going to "get a couple truck parts". Loaded her up on the trailer and left it on the trailer where I store it. I did buy some parts so technically I told the truth, just not all,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. Gotta figure out how to break the news to her. Any suggestions? We need to start a 12 step program I guess, I'll start. Hi my name is Wayne, I currently own a cr*pload of vehicles. It has been 10 days since my last car purchase. I want to do better, and quit, just can't pass up on those ones that I've said "one of these days I would like to build one of those". Guy in Queen Creek I bought the GMC from two weeks ago said he had a ton of calls on it while I was on the way out to get it. Probably some of you. Sorry Charlie, Only the Best Tuna get to be Starkist. |
