Somebody really screwed with this truck. I assumed I had an all original 350 that had never been messed with. Turns out it was .060" over so I had to find a new block, it wasn't the original block, one head was off a 307 and another off a 327 (???), the balancer was from a 307 (I knew that already, the thing was so small), the bolts were stripped out on the balancer, one exhaust manifold was cracked, the clutch was in backwards and hitting the flywheel bolts so I only had a tiny bit of clutch, the rockers were put in wrong and were not lined up (I knew that too, but I thought everything was just worn out), the rings were broken on two of the cylinders, and I think that's it.
Anyway, I learned never to take anything for granted. Oh, and the oil pressure line sprung a leak. I don't think it's used to having oil pressure and finally gave way. I love these trucks.

Looks great!
I hope I have as good of luck fixing up my "ex-meatball" owner project. It is downright scary what some 'mechanics' can do to these trucks. |

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I love the look on people's faces when I pop the hood.
I used the .060" block as a trade-in on the .040" block I have now. I have manual drums all the way around. It can get scary sometimes, but usually they're fine. They go well with the manual steering, and transmission. ![]() Since I found it in NM, I am pretty sure this truck has been over the border a few times, and that's probably where most of the former engine(s) combination was put together. John
