Classic Trucks Mag !!
Just got mine in the mail and they did an AWSOME write up on the differences between 67-72 chevy trucks.
Not to mention they have a bad a$$ red & white 71 shorty w/airride 18/20 combo. It is worth the 3-4 bucks unlike TRUCKN mag who has became crap... John

Oh yeah!
My favorite truck magazine!
Did you get last months issue? It had a great article (w/ pics) of all the rare, and highly sought after options for our 67-72's. It was the first time I ever saw the factory Cruise Control unit for our babies! |

Custom Classic Trucks don't show as many of our 67-72's, unlike Classic Trucks. But I get them both, I like them....

Primedia owns all of 'em...
I know that Primedia owns Truckin', Classic Trucks, Custom Classic Trucks, SportTruck, and so forth. Buckeroo Publishing puts out one called Truck Builder, along with SuperRod and others. All are decent, but content is debatable. The article about the rare accessories, was in one of the truck mags a couple or three years ago, and is merely a repeat of that article, including the same truck. What I am seeing of late, in those mags is a bunch of older articles being republished. Not that it is a bad thing, but when they have a monopoly on our interests, they can do whatever they want. None is inexpensive, anymore. But, I remember when I had to work half an hour, just to buy HotRod, and that is when it only cost 50-cents. Now, I have to work half an hour just to buy a copy of Truck Builder....and it is almost 40 years later.

I quit buying Truckin awhile ago. They started doing articles on boats and crap. No tech articles worth its weight in toilet paper, and mostly stock SUV's with 23" wheels...now thats custom!!! Plus, I did a little research and discovered that the mag had about 95% advertisments and 3% features and the rest was editorial ramblings. I know they need to pay bills, but come on!!! I have been buying Street Trucks mag since day 1 and am very pleased. And of course, Classic Trucks just rules. In my opinion, these 2 mags are keeping with the faith. Way to go. I think Truckin should change their name to Boatin', just my 2 cents worth.

It's like that in mags anymore, repeats on everything. Seems like every other month its the same. But there is always one or two features that makes em' worth buyin' .Classic, Custom Classic,Chevy Hi-Po,Hot Rod I get every month. I'll start on Car Craft now since Jeff Smith is the ed. now. 2 yrs for $12.00 can't meet that at Wal-Mart LOL!!!! I like Chevy Rumble, Doug Marion is hard to beat on Chevy's and the history of it. Truck Builder lately has alot of late model, 4x4 etc. so I look before I buy. I got close to 600 mags some back in the '70's & 80's. I guess thats my addiction!!!!! LOL!!!

My Truckin runs out in Dec and it won't be renewed. Its around 300 pages with at least half of them being advertisements. Now with all the boat and boat trailer stuff, I am done with them. I like Street Trucks as good as any now. A lot of the old Truckin guys are there now.

truckin runs some 67-72, but most of them are hot rods... i saw a 71-72 with a rat motor and with big back tires and thats about it. and a prostreet 69-70 with really big back tires. both didnt really deserve a feature. the 71-72 was fairly nice. red stepside. all the same trucks are in all them it seems like the blue 96 that is in their this month i saw in sport truck months ago. they trade off...

Both articles had run in Sport Truck but only as a special newstand only section when they killed Chevy Truck and tried to fold it into Sport Truck. Both articles were writen by Jim Aust who did a great job on each and they deserved to get out to a larger group. I'm sure they could have been rewriten but the info would be the same. I don't think you'll find a magazine that consistantly has more `67-72 info and it's going to get even more. There is some cool stuff in the works. Sure there will always be those that complain that the entire magazine isn't dedicated to these trucks but they are the same ones that would complain that they won $100 million but only had $65 million after taxes.
