Im looking at getting a truck

So heres the story, I found an original owner 71 GMC 1/2 for $3000 Canadian. Its got a 292 I-6 3 on the tree. Not a spot of rust any where. the owner still has all the paper work. No body damage, minus a few dings in the bed floor. The only problems are that it needs new wipers, the radio doesn't work, and the paint has faded from green to grey. The owner is a widow, whos late husband said the truck is worth that much.... he said that ten years ago of course, so its not in as good of shape, but the truck is more collectable now. Think its worth it? I know the owner... in fact I call her "grandma".... So does my sister and my cousins.

The one thing that confuses me is that my grandpa had chev hub caps on it.... and had GMC hub caps on his chev.

I don't think the price is too far off especially when you factor in Canadian funds vs US funds.

Without RUST-priceless!!!! I got my blazer for $5000 and had to replace rockers, floorboards, both doors, both fenders and a tailgate! Lots of $$ to fix rust....your lucky - jump on it!

A true rust free truck is worth some good money.

sort of interesting because it has the 292, most of the no options "cheap trucks" had the 250...I wonder how much the 292 cost vs. the base 250 when brand new...

Im pretty sure its a 292. Im not certain, it could be a 250, but my grandpa liked the big 6s more than the v8s. In all his years he never owned a vehicle with a v8. He found sixes lugged hard and were easier to work on. I wasnt sure if it being a six would make it alot less valuable. I've already got my gramps old 68 chev 4x swb (needs lots of work) and Im pretty happy with the pull of the six, so I think Ill go for it and pick it up when ever I get a chance.

I dont know why I think I need another vehicle to put money into. My bronco is rusting into nothingness, and I hate driving my camaro in the cooler months, so thats my excuse for buying it.

Thanks for the help
