Thought I had truck sold.

This guy said he was coming to look at my truck. I sent him pictures of the truck. He was bringing a trailer, so if he bought it he would take it home. He never showed up. Why don't people call and say they changed there minds. I am not upset because he did not buy it. I am upset because he did call me, and tell me he changed his mind.

They say what ever angers you, about another person, is really something you dislike, about yourself.
I must really hate myself cause everyone pee pee's me off! LOL

Re: Thought I had truck sold.

Craigslist buyers are the worst at saying the will be there and then don't show up. Any craigslist buyer that calls or texts and says they changed there mind or their wife will leave them if they buy anything else. I have a lot of respect for them and thank them for letting me know . There is nothing worst than waiting around all day for someone and they don't show up. My life is very busy and my time off from work is very valuable to me, so I set a time and if they are not there after one hour and don't call, I do not wait around I will leave and go do what ever it is I need to do. YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE!!

Because you are a person of integrity and when others don't act like you do, it bothers you. Good luck in the future. I'm going to see a man tomorrow about some parts, I have confirmed with him once, and will finalize I am coming tomorrow. I have bought stuff from him before. I just hate being left in the cold like you were.Whoever said they are getting worse is correct, my Daddy used to say,"A man is as good as his word" of course he was born in '21, a lot has changed since then.

A person like that does not deserve a truck like yours.

Re: Thought I had truck sold.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks its rude to just not show up. Craigslist is by far the worst for stuff like that. I have no idea why its so hard for some people just to call/text and let me know you changed your mind or can't come or whatever.

Re: Thought I had truck sold.

the craigslist nonsense is really getting out of hand. Whatever you price it at you get 1/2 price offers all day long. so I started pricing it at double what I wanted. now my problem is that when they offer me half, I say yes, and they never show up.

Re: Thought I had truck sold.

Maybe I read your post wrong, but if the guy CALLED you and said he would'nt be there, & your pissed? I'd be grateful he called and let me know. How many idiots don't even let you when they'll show up?

Re: Thought I had truck sold.

Welcome to craigslist low ballers, be backers and no shows. It averages about 50% no shows when I have stuff for sale. One day I had 7 different people coming for different items and none showed up or called. I have hurried back home many times to meet someone that never shows.

Re: Thought I had truck sold.

nothing is ever sold until you have the cash in hand. Ive developed a new strategy I place the add. and store the item at a storage unit. When they call I tell them ill meet them at the storage unit . They have to call me when they get there. It keeps tire kickers & lookie loos at bay.
