I've asked this before, but sub boxes behind the seats? Check it out please!!!

So, the situation has changed a bit guys! I have in my possession one of the world's smallest beasts: a Sundown SA-8 V 1.5 D2. Well, I say "in my possession", but the truth is that my mom is terrible at hiding Christmas presents. lol

Anywho, I'm curious how many of you guys have built a box for a single eight in your truck, preferable behind the seat. I need to construct a fuel cell and get that tank out of there!!!

Thanks for lookin and your input!!!

Have you already relocated the tank? I built a split sealed box w/ polyfill for 2 10" kicker c10's under the seat (back before real slim subs existed) using 2" spacers made from 1" sq tube, under the seat brackets, back in the day. I had to use an aftermarket wheel but it worked well.

With the tank out of there it should be pretty straight forward. Search in the audio forums

No, haven't gotten that tank out of there yet. I suppose I should also mention that the seats are the middle bench out of a '92 Suburban. Comfy. LOL anywho, I only have the one eight, and I have a *little* wiggle room with sliding the seat forward, but not much. Tell ya the truth, I may end up building a box that just goes behind the wide side of the bench (passenger and center) that way I can retain my leg room behind the wheel and pedals.

Also, don't have to run a fuel cell, can always just use a blazer tank since you're runnin a carbed i6

True. However, I may be getting my greasy paws on a carbed 350. A mechanic near me has had it sittin in the corner of his shop for like a year and a half, the person he ordered it for couldn't come up with the money to pay for it, so I'm gonna see if he'll cut me a sweet deal on it.

I prefer i or 2 8" subs over 1 or 2 10's or anything larger for that matter, i'm not onto blaring subwoffer reverberation sounds but i like nice punchy bass kicks from the bass drum and badd guitar. I think the 8" subs provide that nicely. one box under the seat or pull the tank and put them behind.
