FS: 66 GMC buddy bucket seats
I have a buddy bucket seat I'd like to sale. Very rare one year only 66 Gmc seat. Would need new cover and foam. Prefer local pick up.
$1,100 plus shipping. First "I'll take it" gets it. Money order is good. Paypal add 3% to help cover fees. Thanks Jeff in long beach Last edited by zamboni2354; 01-02-2015 at 02:12 AM. |

Re: FS: 66 GMC buddy bucket seats
What is the difference from the 66 and 67-68 buddy's ? Seat covers ? Can you get correct covers for a 66?

I'm not aware of any off the shelf places to buy the foam or seat covers so you'd most likely have to take it to an upholstery shop to have re-done to your liking. Here's an old thread on this type of seat. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=5862050 Jeff |

For reference, here's what I did with the set that the C10 King had.

Re: FS: 66 GMC buddy bucket seats
They are super comfortable! The driver's side seat adjusts front or back and the passenger seat is fixed. I went ahead and had a couple of marine cup holders put into the back of the middle seat so that I can carry the beverage of my choice without spilling.

Re: FS: 66 GMC buddy bucket seats
I saw the cup holders, smart idea. DID YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE FINDING THE FOAM TO REBUILD THEM?

Re: FS: 66 GMC buddy bucket seats
Frankly, I had my upholstery guy just reuse the existing foam. While the original covers were torn, the original foam was in great shape and is very comfortable under the new vinyl and fabric. He just contoured it a bit to fit the edges that I wanted.

Re: FS: 66 GMC buddy bucket seats
Mark,
I have a 72 c-10 and I really don't need anything for it but would like to have a 67 or 68 buddy bucket seat for it since they are shorter - at least from what I have read. I think you'd have a few options to have the seats upholstered. 1. take them to an upholstery company and they can shape new foam to match the original pattern and they would make the covers for it. 2. or you could buy foam for the 67-72 buckets - there's I think 3 styles. then the upholstery shop could a. make the covers for them and the buddy or b. you could by the covers for the buckets and have the upholstery shop then match the buddy seat to the bucket covers. I don't think you would benefit from buying buddy bucket seat covers for the 67 or 68 seats since the 66 buddy seat is bigger. I think the best bet would be to take them or photo's around to a few shops and get quotes. jeff |
