junkyard will it work?

Ok, quick question is 94-96 impala wheel lug pattern the same as a 84 c10 swb 5 lug? I was at the junkyard and saw a set of impala ss 15" wheels on a 96 lumia...just curious? As always thanks in advance.

Re: junkyard will it work?

The 1995 & 1996 B Body Impala SS lug bolt pattern is 5x5" aka 5x127mm just like the 73-87 1/2 ton trucks I believe.

Re: junkyard will it work?

My memory could be wrong. But back in the day I had a 94 caprice and was looking for the impala as rims. If I remember correctly the impala and lumina bolt patterns are different.

Chevy also had a front wheel drive version of those wheels that were used on Monte Carlos starting in the late 90's and on Impalas starting in 2000. That's probably what you saw on the Lumina ... I think those have a 5 x 115mm lug pattern (and different offset) that would not fit these trucks.

Re: junkyard will it work?

Also if they were off a fullsize Impala SS they would be 17" wheels.

Re: junkyard will it work?

ROH wheels out of Canada built an limited run for GM for the 1994-97 Impala SS line, then GM outsourced them for mass production and left ROH holding the bag....crummy deal for ROH. Funny tho, many years back a company called OE Wheel Distributors sold what appeared to be a knock-off version of the GM wheel except the center cap came with a black stick on insert instead of an Impala logo. Well, at the time I was building a 79 Monte Carlo with a 5 on 5 pattern and I ordered the wheels anyway....17x9 and cost was $630 total shipped to my door! The GM ones NOS at the time (circa 2002-3) were about $600 ea!

Guess what? These were ROH wheels but without any GM markings! I later found out ROH wheels retained the rights to the wheel design and still sold them for quite awhile. They have long since been discontinued.....too bad....I liked their Snyper wheels but they too have went away.....sucks!

GM sold 16" 5x5 versions of that wheel for the B Body cars. A couple buddies of mine had them on mid 90's Caprice wagons. But not 15" AFAIK.

Re: junkyard will it work?

C trucks are 5 x 5", same as the full-size GM cars of the day. K trucks are 6 x 5.5".

Re: junkyard will it work?

The lug pattern will work but the backspacing may be a little different. Whenever I'm curious about other wheels, I typically check tirerack. Won't necessarily give you stock backspacing but the recommended wheels will tell you what that vehicles bolt pattern is.

That is wrong. Luminas used 5x115 bolt patterns.

Ray_mcavoy said it right in his answer. Tons of Montes and other fwd GM cars running around with a 15" wheel that looks like a 17" Impala wheel. They are smaller diameter and different bolt pattern. Trivia though, the center caps will interchange with the true 17 inch 5x5 Impala wheel. We used to buy the Impala wheels from GM for our trucks and get the Monte center caps so we'd have a bow tie center and not the running animal centers.

Re: junkyard will it work?

^^ Yup. I missed the W body (Lumina) reference in the OP. The 96 W chassis Lumina used 5x115mm bolt circles.
