holley 4160 gurus'..........
so I have a Holley intake with an opening like this:
Do I use this gasket for my 4160? Also, when looking at the bottom of my carb, there is a jet in the middle of the throttle body base plate in the center in the middle of all four throttle bores, what does that jet do?

that bottom carb pic is not my carb, but where that big opening is in the center in between the 4 barrels, is where I have a jet installed....don't know why...

Re: holley 4160 gurus'..........
Check under the air cleaner stud for a screw. If it has a screw then your carb has the Idle-eze feature. I believe the purpose is to adjust the amount of air that passes through the carb at idle without opening the throttle plates past the transition slot. I'm at work so I'm going by memory from what I read in my "how to super tune and modify holley carb" book I have at home". That book has helped me alot. Do a web search on Idle-Eze and you should find a better description.
A 4-hole gasket would be better and can be found at just about any local auto part store. Last edited by Big Kev-O; 01-19-2015 at 12:03 PM. |

That is a spread bore intake and you can not run a square bore carb with out and adapter

You may want to placed your carb on and see if it seals. I'm running a Edlebrock 2116 which looks like your manifold and it will accept spread bore or square bore carbs without an adapter. What is the model number on that carb?
