Very Nice project.........

Couple questions. What did you use for motor stands/mounts and any pics of the shifter location in the cab?

Re: 67swb/ls1/t56 build

Appreciate it, I used cpp ls swap motor mounts its the newer version on right, and a cpp transmission mount for the t56. For the shifter location, I moved it forward to the inspection port on the transmission with a discontinued kit from Kaiser. It comes out pretty much where they did from the factory. I will take a pic later today for you.

Re: 67swb/ls1/t56 build

Nice project. Jealous of the t56. Thought about going that route but haven't found a good enough deal on the trans and buying new is too rich for my blood.

Interested in shifter set up. My t56 has a standard shifter and it is in the way of console.

Re: 67swb/ls1/t56 build

Cool project and a great looking truck. Would look really cool to modify an original 4x4 shift handle to attach to the T-56 to have the shift ball in stock location!

That's what I've been thinking to do on my '67 GMC. I have the 4spd shift knob from Corvair truck.. It's the same knob as our trucks, but with car 4spd pattern

Cool Re: 67swb/ls1/t56 build

Thanks Guys! And I used a kit from Kiaser/Kaiser transmissions.. Not sure if they are still around but I'm sure other people sell the kit. It moves the shifter to the inspection port. And I went with the T56 bc I have the same combo in my 2000 SS and love it , thinking I should cam the LS as well

Re: 67swb/ls1/t56 build

O and for the Shifter, I would of really liked to have found a better fit but this is the closest I could find. Does anyone know where I can find something a bit longer that puts the shifter closer to the driver?

Not off the shelf. I'd try and find a chrome OEM 4x4 shifter for a 67-72 and modify it to have the length and offset that you prefer.

Was it Kiesler? They went broke and someone else has bought the business last I had heard. Not sure if they are selling parts/conversions again or not.
