Question Frame cleanup

Lots of questions today (and couldn't search for answers ):
Has anyone here used these products?

Eastwood Internal Frame Coating Black 14oz Aerosol (item# 15275Z)
http://www.eastwood.com/internal-fra...lack-14oz.html

Eastwood Rust Converter
http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-rust-converter.html

How well do they work?
And, how much of the aerosol would it take to coat the inside of a frame?

The frame doesn't have any major rust problems. I'd just like to protect it for many years to come. I figured while I'm doing other projects (bed, fenders, etc) I can treat parts of the frame as they become exposed.

Re: Frame cleanup

I used Eastwood's rust Encaspulator, but no topcoat on 2 different trucks. It left a semigloss/flatish black color. Looked good and has held up over ten years on those trucks (they are with other owners now). I have used it on porch/other house metal items and it has held up very well. I have no complaint of the products from Eastwood and this one is a lot easier/safer to handle than the POR products.
It can be brushed or sprayed on with no issues. I buy it in the quart cans.

Re: Frame cleanup

As with any coating, the key to longevity is in the prep and cleanliness prior to coating.

Reviews on the Rust Converter are not so promising...only seems to work if major rust exits, uses as a reactant to work properly. Otherwise, it stays tacky needing to be cleaned up.
The Internal Frame Coating is in the clearance section on Eastwood's website so maybe that one hasn't garnered a successful following and may be getting discontinued. The skinny is their Rust Encapsulator is a better product.

Re: Frame cleanup

I've used Duplicolor Rust Fix in the past (section of cab floor 4 yrs ago) and it's actually held up well. After cleaning as well as possible, I also sprayed the inner door bottoms for my 64 and then went over that with the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Should outlast me by a ways, lol.

I've used duplicolor with good results also. This stuff really needs about three months to fully cure.
