10-bolt to 14-bolt SF Parking Brake Cables

I'm gathering up all the parts I need to do the swap in my 96 C1500. The parking brake cables are all still intact on the 14-bolt and the cable is cut before the cable-junction/connecter from the 2500 truck.

Can I just unhook mine at the same junction and use the 14-bolt cables or do I have to use my cables from the c1500 all the way back to the shoes inside the 14-bolt?

I pulled the drums from the 14-bolt and the brake shoes are in great shape. I saw a YouTube video where the guy had the brakes all torn down to change them at the back. I really don't want to do it that way if I don't have to.

The last 2 pics are of the little cable connecter/junction I'm talking about.

Also I'm going from a LWB to a SWB truck if that matters.
