What did you do too your sill plates? Polish, Paint or ??
Hey all. Now that i'm finished with my sound deadener and new carpet, I was cleaning up all 8 sill plate pieces for my crew cab and I was just curious on what some of y'all have done to purdy them up? They aren't in bad shape at all, and I will probably just polish them up. Just wanted too see what options might be out there. I know some of ya have redone some of your interiors and this is the first thing ya see when ya open the door(s)!! Especially when its on 38's! This parts hauler is getting stupid.
If you can post pics of what you did that would help! Thanks!

Can you post pic of the sill plates. How are you liking the sound deadner? Notice a difference?

Re: What did you do too your sill plates? Polish, Paint or ??
I drove it before I had the new exhaust put on it with and without the sound deadener and new carpet. Big difference. But it also has the mass backing which i'm sure helps a ton. Plus this thing was a tight sold truck too begin with. It kinda depressed me at first when I drove it down the highway. Hardly any tire noise, steered straight, stopped great..... Oh how products and steering techniques have changed for the better!!!
I don't really have a pic of just them. I can later. Just normal crew sill plates i guess. 8". No rubbing of any kind. I put the specs in the 73-87 lift/tire combo thread. thanks for the ideas. any more out there? Pics?????

I like black so if these are what you are talking about I took out my tired shorty aluminum ones and will be replacing them with these black plastic second hand ones with a coat or three of Mother's Back to Black on em, these are longer too so they will hold down more of the rubber seal to the floor

Yes I added a set from LMC. Added it to the light that was already there, so it makes 3 lights in all. Plus they are LED bulbs

I polished mine too. They Shine up really easy but they scuff/scratch really easy too.
I really like Chevyblacks powdercoat idea. |
